Welcome to the Jousting and heraldry Activity Page!

 get a copy of the jousting questions found in the google classroom. You will answer all the steps below on this doc.

step 1 :   Click on the picture on the top right.   Read the section "What is jousting?"  Record one interesting fact in your notes. 

Step 2:    Next, read the section "What is heraldry?"  Record one fact in your notes as well. 

Step 3:    Now, choose your shield and choose your horse!  When you choose your armor, be sure to write one fact in your notes about armor by reading the section "What armor did they wear?"  Finally, joust!  Can you win three in a row?

Step 4:    Try a different jousting game by clicking on the images.  Which do you like better?  Most are probably blocked...sadness.

Step 5:  Heraldry

why do knights have designs on their shields?  What do the designs mean?  Go to the classroom and complete the google form about heraldry.

Step 6:  You are now tasked with applying your knowledge of heraldry.  Click the picture to your left to access the "story" about robert. Follow the plot carefully and Answer the questions about heraldry on the google form found in the class stream.

Step 7:  Before you create a family coat-of-arms, visit these  sites to map out some ideas. Planning ahead will make your coat-of-arms fall within the guidelines of heraldry.  

Step 8:  Make your own coat of arms!  Click on the link above to review the directions.  this is a paper assignment!  you may print pictures to mount on your project.
